Gandhinagar University (GU) has formed University Innovation Cell (UIC) to nurture the young innovators for developing the innovative ideas for the existing problems of the society. It aims to cultivate the seeds of innovation among the students and support student innovations to take them to the next possible level and convert it into a startup. The support includes mentoring support, financial support, incubation support, seed funding support, patent filing support etc. The implementation of funding schemes like Student Startup Innovation Policy (SSIP 2.0), Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC), National Innovation Startup Policy (NISP), Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA) will provide maximum benefits to all stakeholders – the students, faculty members, alumni etc. It aims to develop a student centric startup ecosystem at the University level to support and nurture the creative ideas of students.
