International Women’s Day celebration on GIT

The Women Development Cell of Gandhinagar Institute of Technology celebrated International Women’s Day 2022 on 7th & 8th March 2022. The motto of the event was to motivate female members of the institute and empower them for their as well as society’s betterment. The Pre celebration of International Women’s Day started on 7th March 2022, with an educational discussion for class 4 women workers about the “Importance of Girl Child Education”, given by Ms. Prutha Bhatt and Ms. Rudri Trivedi from Sem. 6, Computer Engineering. It was followed by an entertaining game session for the female faculty members. A token of appreciation was given to class 4 women workers and female faculty members. On 8th March 2022, 50 girl students of the institute were taken for a visit to the Nadabet India-Pak border. The students were taken for the visit of zero-point LOC- Seema Darshan where they interacted with soldiers and were explained the workings of the BSF. An educational session about various weapons and machinery used by the Indian army and information about their make, model, and use was given to the students. Students also visited the Nadabet museum which showcased the brave history of Nadabet. The main aim of conducting this visit was to encourage girl students to feel empowered, encouraged, and informed and to motivate them to join the defense force. The visit was managed by Mr. Vallabhbhai Ramani, the great father of Martyr Maj Rushikesh Ramani who was killed in action in June 2009 at Pukhawada sector in Jammu and Kashmir and guided by Mr. R.K. Mehdiratta, executive member of the Air Force Association.
